Our Story
Pointy Nose started around our kitchen table.
Like many parents, we wanted to give our children every opportunity to explore their interests, make friends, learn new skills, and build confidence. What we didn't expect was how difficult it would be to find those opportunities in the first place.
When our eldest started showing interest in different activities, we spent countless evenings searching for classes and holiday programmes. We'd find a swimming lesson through one website, a music class through another, and hear about a great holiday programme only because another parent mentioned it at school pickup.
Before long, we had bookmarks everywhere, screenshots saved on our phones, notes scribbled down, and calendar reminders trying to keep track of it all. Every provider had a different website, different information, and a different booking process. Some details were out of date, some activities were hard to discover, and comparing options felt almost impossible.
One night, after yet another search session, we looked at each other and asked a simple question:
"Why isn't there one place that brings all of this together?"
That question became Pointy Nose.
We imagined a place where parents could easily discover classes, holiday programmes, sports, music lessons, creative activities, and local experiences for their children without spending hours searching. A place where finding the next great activity would be simple, organised, and enjoyable.
So we decided to build it ourselves.
Pointy Nose is the platform we wished we had as parents. It's designed to help Kiwi families spend less time searching and organising, and more time watching their children learn, grow, and discover what they love.
Were building Pointy Nose right here in Aotearoa, one step at a time, with the hope that it makes life a little easier for families like ours.
